MGA was established in 2007 by Claudio Franconi, whom, after a life at sea as a Navy and Merchant Marine Officer (second in Comm ... and) embarked on a career in Marine Insurance. He quickly established a presence in the marketplace where he achieved the position of MD of MOAC Italia, the Italian Representative Office of Marine Office of America Corporation. Later on he became the Managing Director in a Italian wholesale insurance broker before establishing, in 2007, a Company of his own. Thanks to his international network of professional contacts built up over the years and technical skill of the founder acquired after a long and successful career in the industry, the Company has established a solid reputation acting as a wholesale Agent mainly in the Lloyd’s Market and predominantly in the marine insurance classes of business. Notwithstanding the foregoing, his long experience in the insurance industry had allowed him to negotiate a wide range of classes of business as well as assisting brokers in placing their portfolio of business in the international insurance marketplace. In December 2013 the majority shareholding of the Company has been acquired by Schinasi UK, a Lloyd’s Broker subsidiary which is part of Schinasi Holding of London. Schinasi is a well known Insurance Broker owned by the Schinasi family in Italy, established in 1967 and now with offices in Milano, Torino, Bolzano Vienna as well as London. The merging with Schinasi completes the field of expertise extending the activity to all other lines of Non Marine business performed by Schinasi.
