A HISTORY of EXCELLENCE The company was founded in 1962 by Alden "Al" Laibe, originally selling well drilling supplies and tools, and a distributor for Cyclone drilling rigs (which became Ingersoll-Rand). Mark Laibe (Al Laibe's only son & 2nd generation) joined the company in 1972 and after many years of learning all aspects of the business and industry, started the VERSA-DRILL brand of drilling rigs in 1989. Jim Hopkins joined the company in 1999 in sales and quickly rose to the ranks of President & CEO. It was Al's vision, Mark's leadership, Jim's leadership / innovation that vaulted Laibe Corporation to the worldwide industry leader they are today. The company added Martin Wright as the CFO in 2008 which further solidified the senior management team of Mark, Jim, & Martin.
