After six years at the helm of UK toy wholesaler Asobi, founder Thierry Bourret stepped down at the end of December 2014 from hi ... s position as Managing Director and started Konomocha. Thierry founded Asobi in 2008 after a successful first career with Hitachi Europe Ltd where he was European Operations Manager. A bilingual entrepreneur, he drew upon his sales and purchasing experience to found and grow Asobi into a company with a multi-million pound turnover generated from retailing high-end Canadian, French and New Zealand toy brands as well Asobi’s own innovative product line. In late 2013 Bourret recruited a team around him that has successfully developed existing trading relationships for Asobi with many retailers including John Lewis, Amazon, Hobbycraft, Hamleys, Harrods and Selfridges. Toys R Us, Boots, Argos and Tesco were added as new retailers in 2014 In December 2014 he was nominated by Progressive Gifts & Home magazine as one of 30 most influential people in the UK gift industry. Asobi was shortlisted by The Telegraph as one of the SMEs of 2014. Konomocha helps companies with their export sales by helping with the recruitment, selection and ongoing support of distributors. We also help companies without base in UK to sell to larger retailers either on a FOB or direct shipment basis.
