Hemendra has pledged personal wealth for philanthropic endeavors through Hemendra Kothari Foundation and sister trusts such as Wildlife Conservation Trust. The core areas of interest of the Foundation are Education, Health, Wildlife Conservation, Culture and Heritage. HKF and WCT together have donated substantially for the uplifting of living conditions of poor communities near 128 tiger reserves, parks and sanctuaries across the country. The education initiative of the twin trusts is benefiting nearly 62,000 school children and 1,300 teachers from 578 government schools. The skills development initiative has seen little above 3000 youths obtaining training and employment. The health initiative of the trusts has helped nearly 150,000 rural citizens access primary health care and advanced referral services. The three social initiatives of education, skills development and health complement the massive assistance for protection of vulnerable forest tracts in collaboration with forest department.
