About Central Payments: In 2012, Central Bank of Kansas City formed Central Payments to lead the bank's entry into the rapidly ... growing prepaid card industry. CBKC chose to enter the prepaid card industry because of the significant and projected growth, the potential to attract low-cost deposits to fuel CBKC’s continued growth, and the opportunity to complement our CDFI mission by offering affordable transaction accounts to people of modest means. Central Payments is charged with managing all of CBKC’s prepaid card issuing, which includes programs offered through third party Service Providers (“CBKC-Sponsored Programs”) and programs offered directly by CBKC (“CBKC-Managed Programs”). We have committed and will continue to commit the resources necessary to compete in the industry, serve our partners, and do right by the consumer. About Central Bank of Kansas City: CBKC is a 60 plus-year-old family-owned Bank located in the heart of Kansas City, Missouri. We are one of approximately 100 financial institutions in the country certified as a Community Development Financial Institution (“CDFI”) and have enjoyed this designation since 1998. A CDFI takes on as its mission a focus on delivering services to a demographic that has historically not enjoyed the benefits of affordable and accessible financial products.
