We operate 1,641 units of low income and supported transitional and permanent housing for homeless persons living with serious mental illness or HIV/AIDS. Our Medical and Psychiatric Respite Program offers short-term supportive housing, care management and coordination for patients from acute care hospitals.
Our Vida Guidance Center, a Bronx-based mental health clinic provides more than 23,000 outpatient visits a year to children, adolescents, adults, families and seniors.
Our Life is Precious Program, which has programs in Brooklyn, the Bronx and Queens, provides suicide prevention activities for Latina teens who have seriously considered or attempted suicide. According to a Centers of Disease Control and Prevention survey, in 2013 18.8% of Latina teens in NYC seriously considered & 13.3% attempted suicide. In Brooklyn 23.5%, Bronx 13.7% and Queens 20.3% of Latina teens seriously considered suicide during that time - a rate far greater than their non-Hispanic counterparts.
